Side Event
Terms and Conditions of Use and Code of Conduct

Purposes

These terms and conditions set forth the standards and responsibilities that the organizers must adhere to in order to ensure that the side events of Global Startup EXPO 2026 (GSE) are safe, fair, and meaningful for participants, stakeholders, and the event as a whole. They apply to all stages of the process, from application and certification to event hosting and reporting.

Operation responsibilities

Side events shall be planned and operated by the organizers at their own responsibility and expense, and the GSE Executive Committee assumes no responsibility whatsoever for the content, operation, participant support, or any problems related to the side events.

ItemsRequirements
Locus of responsibilitiesThe organizers shall assume all responsibilities for holding their side events.
Explanation to participantsThe purposes, content, participation conditions, and handling of personal information must be clearly and appropriately stated.
In case of troubleIn case of an accident or trouble, the relevant organizer shall take initial action and report it to the GSE Executive Committee.
Insurance and expensesIn principle, the organizers shall bear the costs of venue rental, insurance, equipment, etc.

Guidelines for information dissemination

  • When announcing or disseminating information, clearly state that the relevant event is a GSE side event.
  • Do not use exaggerated language, false information, or misleading expressions.
  • When using the GSE name, logo, or brand materials, use them within the scope of the media kit provided by the secretariat.
  • If your posts lead to trouble, online backlash, or other problems, report it to the secretariat immediately and follow its instructions.
  • Even after the event has ended, make the necessary corrections if any errors are discovered in the information already posted.

Prohibitions

The following actions are strictly prohibited. If a violation is confirmed, the relevant certification may be revoked and future applications may not be accepted.

[Safety considerations]

  • Forcing others to drink alcohol, and providing alcohol to or condoning alcohol consumption by participants under the age of 20.
  • Operating the venue without complying with the capacity limits and safety standards stipulated in the Fire Service Act and other relevant laws and regulations.

[Prohibited actions toward participants]

  • All forms of harassment (sexual harassment, power harassment, moral harassment, academic harassment, alcohol-related harassment, etc.)
  • Solicitation and sales activities against the will of participants, and solicitation into multi-level marketing or network marketing schemes
  • Unauthorized collection and provision of participants’ personal information to third parties

[Prohibited actions related to the event content]

  • Holding an event that violates laws or public order and morals, or forcing or inducing participants to adopt specific religious or political beliefs
  • Hosting an event with content that differs significantly from the approved application (representing a substantial change in event type or purpose)

[Prohibited actions related to the brand and reputation]

  • Expressions, performances, or content dissemination using the GSE name or logo in a manner that degrades the dignity of the event
  • Actions that may suggest ties with antisocial forces or that may damage social credibility
  • Post of content on social media or other platforms that damages the brand image of GSE
  • Inclusion of false performance data or participant numbers in the event report

Response flow for violations of the terms and conditions

Confirmation of violation or issue

The issue is identified by the secretariat or through a report or notification from third parties.

The secretariat will contact the relevant organizer for confirmation.

After reviewing the details, the secretariat will contact the organizer to call for the explanation of the situation and request improvements.

Corrective action and improvement

The organizer will promptly take corrective action and report it to the secretariat.

If no improvement is seen: Revocation of the certification and removal from the website listing

If corrective action is not confirmed, the official side event status will be revoked and the event will be removed from the GSE official website and archives.
