As deep tech-driven innovation reshapes industries around the world, Japan has a significant opportunity to create new growth industries and rebuild its international competitiveness. However, developing globally competitive industries requires not only technological excellence, but also the capital and global partnerships needed to support long-term growth.

In this keynote address, Jiro Seguchi, President and CEO of Japan Investment Corporation (JIC), will share his perspective on what it takes to transform Japanese deep tech innovations into globally competitive industries. He will discuss why long-term, large-scale risk capital is essential for supporting the entire innovation journey, from research and development to commercialization, mass production, and international expansion. He will also explore how public, private, and international capital can work together to accelerate the growth of Japanese innovation.

Drawing on decades of experience at the forefront of global finance and investment, Mr. Seguchi will offer insights into the conditions Japan must create to seize emerging growth opportunities in a rapidly changing global economy. He will also discuss the potential of GSE2026 to serve as an international platform that connects technology, capital, and talent, helping accelerate the growth of Japanese innovation on the world stage.
