After spending approximately eight years at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, where he worked across a broad range of debt financing activities—including consumer loans, corporate lending, syndicated loans, and loan securitization—Soichi Tajima joined CyberAgent in January 2005. After launching several financial services businesses at CyberAgent, he moved to CyberAgent Ventures (now CyberAgent Capital), a wholly owned subsidiary of CyberAgent, where he invested in startups as a venture capitalist and achieved numerous successful IPOs and acquisitions. In August 2010, he was appointed Representative Director. In this role, he played a central part in formulating investment strategies and making investment decisions across eight countries, primarily in Japan and Southeast Asia. Under his leadership, the firm grew into one of the few Japan-based venture capital firms with a strong presence across Asia. In August 2016, he founded Genesia Ventures. Since July 2023, he has also served as Chairman of the Japan Venture Capital Association (JVCA). He holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Osaka University.

Since joining our audit firm, I have had a wide range of job experiences such as statutory audit, IPO related service and due diligence investigation.
Currently, I support university-initiated venture companies and operate open innovation events as a head of Incubation Department, besides the audit.
Also, I strengthen identification of growth start-up companies and support them as a head of start-up in KPMG Japan Private Enterprise Sector.
