Throughout his career at Kyocera Corporation, he has been engaged in domestic and international M&A, startup investments, and corporate restructuring. In 2019, he led the establishment of the New Business Investment Department, spearheading Kyocera’s full-scale return to startup and LP investments.

Following Kyocera’s acquisition of U.S.-listed AVX Corporation in 2020, he relocated to the United States and served as Vice President of AVX. In this role, he built mechanisms to foster business synergies by bridging operations between Japan and the United States.

In 2024, he established Kyocera’s U.S.-based corporate venture capital (CVC) fund and assumed the role of General Partner. Today, he focuses on investments in deep-tech sectors such as advanced semiconductors and artificial intelligence, while also driving collaboration and commercialization between portfolio companies and business divisions through CVBD (Corporate Venture Business Development), launched in 2026.

Leveraging his experience across both Japan and the United States, as well as his dual perspectives in corporate management and venture investing, he is committed to creating new business opportunities and accelerating innovation-driven growth.

After gaining experience in corporate sales at two companies, Miho joined Nitto Denko in 2013. After working in Corporate Development for 7 years, Miho transferred to startup collaboration and investment activities within the New Business Division in 2020. In 2021, she was assigned to the U.S. and engaged in investment, PMI, and tech scouting activities in Silicon Valley. Upon returning to Japan in 2024, she joined Mitsui Chemicals’ CVC division. She launched 321Catalyst LP, the company’s second CVC fund in the US, and was reassigned to Silicon Valley in July 2025 to manage this fund. She is currently engaged in sourcing and investment activities across a wide range of sectors, including healthcare, agriculture, semiconductors, chemicals, and mobility.

Joe joined Recruit Holdings Co., Ltd. in 2012. After serving as President and Managing Director of the company’s corporate venture capital arm (Recruit Strategic Partners), he founded Counterpart Ventures in 2018. He invests in US startups focused on AI, DX and deep tech. At Recruit Strategic Partners, he led investment activities in the U.S. as a venture capitalist while building investment strategies as the head of the organization. Prior to Recruit, he started career as software engineer, and then shifted to business development and venture investment at Hitachi Solutions, Ltd. He has resided in Silicon Valley since 2007.
