The Global Startup EXPO 2026 Executive Committee (hereinafter referred to as the “Executive Committee”) complies with applicable laws and regulations concerning the protection of personal information, establishes internal rules and organizational structures, and implements and maintains the following privacy policy regarding the handling of personal information of customers and other stakeholders.
1.Compliance with Laws and Regulations
In handling personal information related to the planning and implementation of programs, we comply with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and all other relevant laws and regulations.
2.Responsibilities of the Executive Committee
When collecting personal information, we clearly specify the purpose of collection and limit such collection to what is necessary to achieve that purpose. As a general rule, we obtain information based on the voluntary consent of the individual.
We acquire personal information through lawful and fair means and never through improper methods.
Personal information will be used only within the scope of the stated purposes.
Personal information will not be used within the Executive Committee or disclosed to third parties outside the Committee beyond the stated purposes, except for providing information related to future program offerings or communications from organizing entities regarding related initiatives.
However, personal information may be provided or used in the following exceptional cases:
・When cooperation with governmental or public authorities is required
・When required by law
・When necessary for the protection of a person’s life, body, or property and obtaining consent is difficult
・When particularly necessary for improving public health or promoting the sound growth of children
3.Security Management Measures
We appoint responsible personnel for information management and take appropriate measures to ensure the proper protection of personal information.
We implement necessary safeguards to prevent leakage, theft, loss, or destruction of personal information entrusted to us.
In addition, we take appropriate information security measures, including protection against unauthorized access and computer viruses, to prevent loss, alteration, or leakage of personal information.
Personal information that is no longer required will be promptly disposed of in accordance with prescribed procedures.
4.Other Matters Regarding the Handling of Personal Information
Upon request from an individual for disclosure of their personal information or suspension of its use, or where, as a result of such disclosure, incorrect information is identified and a request is made for correction or deletion, we will respond without delay.
We will also ensure that this policy is fully communicated and adhered to by all members of the Executive Committee, its secretariat, and all related organizations, and will work to enhance awareness of information security.
In addition, we will respond appropriately to complaints and inquiries regarding personal information.
Where the handling of personal information is outsourced to a third party in connection with business operations, we will exercise appropriate supervision over such third party.
In cases where personal information is jointly used, we will clearly specify the scope, purpose, and responsible party for management, and ensure that such information is readily accessible to the individual.
Personal information provided by customers will be collected and strictly managed by the Global Startup EXPO 2026 Executive Committee (comprising Osaka Prefecture, Osaka City, Kyoto Prefecture, Kyoto City, Hyogo Prefecture, Kobe City, the Kansai Economic Federation, the Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Kansai Association of Corporate Executives, the Osaka Business Development Agency, and the Kansai Innovation Initiative (Urban Innovation Institute Foundation)). Such information will be used for purposes including matching visitors with exhibitors and for future communications (such as notifications to exhibitors and distribution of email newsletters).
In addition, photos and videos of this event may be recorded. Such content may be used on an ongoing basis, without a fixed retention period, for purposes including event broadcasts, websites, social media, and promotional materials related to this event and future events organized by members of the Executive Committee (hereinafter referred to as the “Members”). The rights to videos and photographs shall vest in the Executive Committee and will not be used for purposes other than the Committee’s promotional activities.
Collected personal information will be strictly managed in accordance with the privacy policies of each Member organization and may be used for:
・Sales and marketing activities of Member organizations
・Information sharing among Member organizations
・Statistical analysis in a form that does not identify individuals for the purpose of improving services
Information of participants registered for this event will be registered with the EventHub service for the purpose of business matching.
